Ashley Morgan is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Media Studies with Visual Cultures. Her research and publication interests are on cosmetic surgery and the body; aspects of consumerism, particularly advertising; gender and discourses around shopping; the history of the body and its relationship to modern society; narrative, illness and history; voluntary risk discourses and the body in pain. She is currently interested in representations of masculinity in cartoons.

Ashley is a member of the Centre for Fine Art Research (http://www.wirad.ac.uk/research-themes/centre-for-fine-art/), part of the Fine Art and Ceramics theme within WIRAD.
