Dr Chris Short is Senior Lecturer in the history and theory of art on BA and MA Fine Art and MA Ceramics programmes. He did his PhD on Friedrich Nietzsche and German Expressionism in the Department of Art History and Theory, University of Essex, graduating in 1995. His published writings include analysis of modern Austrian and contemporary British art. He is currently writing a book on Wassily Kandinsky, to be published in 2009; co-editing Der Blaue Reiter, Volume II with Gerard Curtis (University of Newfoundland), to be completed in May 2012; co-organising with Dorothy Rowe (University of Bristol) a conference on Der Blaue Reiter to run at Tate Modern in November 2011; and producing a body of artworks relating to the shoreline and surf culture in South Wales.

 

Chris Short is a member of the Centre for Fine Art Research (http://www.wirad.ac.uk/research-themes/centre-for-fine-art/) part of  the Fine Art and Ceramics theme within WIRAD.
