A design historian with additional interests – popular musical cultures and the mass media.

After graduating in art history from the University of Leicester, 1981 he moved to London where he worked as a decorator, jazz critic and gallery guide. From 1987-94 he was a print curator at the Victoria & Albert Museum and curated the exhibition: "The Art of Selling Songs". In 1991 he co-curated the museum’s Twentieth Century Galleries. Following a period of teaching at Camberwell and Kingston he was appointed lecturer at UWIC. He was awarded his doctorate in 2009 after completing his research within the Philosophy Department, Cardiff University. The PhD thesis examines the subject of the BBC as a eutopian (sic) musical space of intersubjective communication. Supervisor: Dr Andrew Edgar.

Kevin Edge is a member of the Centre for Fine Art Research (http://www.wirad.ac.uk/research-themes/centre-for-fine-art/), part of the Fine Art & Ceramics theme within WIRAD.
