Stuart Neil is a Principal Lecturer for the University of Wales Institute Cardiff and Head of Department for Creative Communication in the Cardiff School of Art and Design and is also the Programme Director for Mobile, Web and Game Design BA/BSc (hons) and has taught on a multitude of programmes since joining UWIC in 2001, these include Business Information Systems MSc/BSc/HND/HNC, Retail Management BA/HND, Design for Interactive Media BA/BSc, Graphic Communication BA, Fine Art BA, Broadcast Media and Popular Culture BA and is the external moderator for Design for Interactive Media HND/HNC at Bridgend College. He previously worked within the interactive media sector for numerous years and gained awards including a BAFTA. Stuart is also a member of the research group MeAT (Metaphysics, embodiment, Aesthetics and Technology) and enrolled on a post graduate research degree within UWIC.

 

Stuart has been the Managing Director of Deft Design since 1996 and is the Education Director for 'Pedestrian Arts' a Charitable Non-Profit National Arts Company.

 

Stuart reviews papers for and is a member of the British Computer Society, Human Computer Interface Group and has been a Judge for BAFTA, The Golden Pixel Awards and the Celtic Film Festival.

 

Stuart has worked with the following clients: BBC, European Commission, Foreign Office, Patent Office, Rockwool, Amec, Elf Oil, British Telecom (BT), Docklands Light Railway, East of Scotland Water, Scottish Power, Welsh Water, SWALEC, SWEB, Hyder, Central Office of Information, Highways Agency, Gwent Police, Marconi, General Electric.
